Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name, case number, or other term entered into a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. King County Court Docket does not keep a local log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
Messages sent to us may be retained so that we can answer them and maintain the related correspondence. We do not disclose those messages outside our organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, servers may automatically record basic technical and usage details, including:
- Page-view dates and times
- The referring website, when available
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them
- Browser name and version
- Device category and operating system
- The device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. We and our analytics providers may use them to understand aggregate traffic, such as which pages receive visits and where a session ends. A browser can reject or remove cookies, although disabling them may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Routing a search request to the appropriate partner
- Diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- Operating, maintaining, and improving site performance
- Measuring which resources visitors use
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Court-Record Data on File
King County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case information. It provides general directions to the 50th District Clerk, King County Clerk, Justice of the Peace, and applicable Texas search systems. Visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party profiles, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted through a box is governed by that provider's privacy policy and data practices, which we do not control. Read the provider's terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to King County offices, Texas court systems, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor follows such a link, the destination's policy controls the visit. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own technology to measure activity across websites and select ads. That processing occurs on the provider's systems.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be available to:
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
- Search providers that receive a submitted query
- Advertising networks serving content on the pages
- Government authorities when disclosure is compelled by valid legal process
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable safeguards are used for information under our control. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, however, so absolute protection against unauthorized access cannot be guaranteed.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If we learn that such information was submitted, we will take reasonable steps to remove it.
Your Data Rights
Rights concerning personal information may vary with the law that applies to a visitor. Texas Government Code §552.0035 and Texas Rule of Judicial Administration 12 concern access to judicial records, not visitor data held by this private site. Subject to applicable privacy and consumer-protection law, a visitor may:
- Ask what personal information we hold about the visitor
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion where the law permits it
- Object to or opt out of eligible processing
